From a few treasured houseplants in a Cape Town backyard to a growing community of plant lovers.

What started in 2023 as a small hobby soon became something much bigger. Plants brought us peace, purpose, and a reason to slow down and appreciate life’s quieter moments. We shared cuttings with friends and family, learned through plenty of trial and error, and celebrated every new leaf as if it were our very first.

As our collection grew, so did our dream.

The name Fiddle Me Plants holds a deeply personal meaning to us. It was inspired by the very first houseplant we bought together after my fiancé and I moved in together - a Fiddle Leaf Fig. Like many first-time plant parents, we had no idea what we were doing. We learned as we went, figuring out watering schedules, lighting, and how to keep this dramatic little tree happy.

Over time, that fiddle leaf became more than just a plant. It quietly grew alongside our relationship - putting out new leaves through seasons of change, surviving a few rough patches, and teaching us patience along the way. In many ways, it became a symbol of what growth really looks like: not always perfect, not always fast, but steady, rewarding, and deeply meaningful when nurtured with care.

That idea still shapes everything we do today.

Fiddle Me Plants proudly imports rare and special plants from Indonesia, Japan, and the USA - bringing extraordinary leafy treasures within reach for fellow collectors and plant lovers. But no matter how much we grow, our roots remain the same: local soil under our fingernails, a deep love for nature, and a passion for nurturing life.

We specialise in small- to medium-sized plants because we believe growth is the most rewarding part of the journey. There’s something truly special about watching a plant thrive in your care - from its first unfurling leaf to the lush, beautiful plant it becomes over time. Sustainability and ethical sourcing are at the heart of everything we do. We work with suppliers who share our respect for nature, care for our plants using environmentally conscious fertilisers and pest control methods, and package orders with recyclable and reusable materials whenever possible - because healthy plants deserve a healthy planet.
