Plant Scientific Name:
Curio rowleyanus ‘Variegata’ (syn. Senecio rowleyanus)
Plant Common Name:
Variegated String of Pearls
Plant Description:
Variegated String of Pearls is a striking trailing succulent featuring round, bead-like leaves marbled with green, cream, and soft yellow tones. Its cascading growth makes it ideal for hanging baskets and high shelves, where the delicate strands can spill beautifully over the edges.
Water:
Water sparingly. Allow the soil to dry out completely between waterings. Overwatering is the most common cause of failure and can quickly lead to root rot.
Temperature & Humidity:
Prefers temperatures between 18–28°C. Thrives in dry to average indoor humidity. Protect from cold, damp conditions and temperatures below 10°C.
Pet Safety:
Toxic to pets. Keep out of reach of cats and dogs.
Pro Tip:
Use a very well-draining succulent or cactus mix and ensure the pot has drainage holes. Bright indirect light or gentle morning sun helps maintain strong variegation and compact growth.
